Romtelecom is wearing the Green Stamp

Romtelecom imports electrical and electronic equipment (EEEW) with the purpose of sale or free distribution, therefore qualifies as a producer.

According to legal requirements on electrical and electronic equipment waste, manufacturers, importers, distributors, consumers and operators are directly involved in the management of electrical and electronic equipment waste. These legal requirements aim for environmental protection and human health through actions undertaken by all operators involved in the life cycle of electrical and electronic equipment.

In order to fulfill legal obligations, Romtelecom has signed a contract with the ECOTIC association. The association will carry out the obligations of Romtelecom regarding the collection, recovery and recycling of electrical and electronic equipment (EEEW) and also the reporting obligations to the National Agency Environmental Protection, regarding the management of these wastes.

More about the Green Stamp:

The Green Stamp is part of the price of electrical and electronic equipment, meant to cover the costs of the collection and recycling of EEEW. Amounts collected from the green stamp provide financing for collection and recycling activities, and for the information and public awareness. This percentage is paid only once, when purchasing of electronic equipment which will en the end become waste.
The Green Stamp is applied to IT equipment for office equipment, consumer electronics, toys and sports articles with electronic components, industrial measurement and control devices. Even if some electrical or electronic equipment are bot subjected to the Green Stamp (audio headsets, keyboards, etc.) they must be selectively collected and recycled under the current rules as well.
