Romtelecom announces that it received the Cisco Partner Summit award for Service Provider Partner of the Year in the EME14 region, which includes 14 countries in Central and Eastern Europe and the Gulf. Cisco unveiled the winners at the end of April, at its annual channel partner conference in San Francisco.

The objective of Cisco’s Partner Summit awards is to recognize exemplary channel partners whose business best practices Cisco would like other partners to model. Categories include: innovative practices, applications successes, unique programs, problem solving and sales approaches.  All winners are selected by a group of Cisco Worldwide Channels and regional theater executives.

It is an honor and privilege to name Romtelecom as a Cisco Partner Summit regional award winner,” said Cristian Popescu, General Manager Cisco Romania. “The Service Provider Partner of the Year recognizes Romtelecom’s performance and achievements as an outstanding Cisco channel partner in 2009.”

“This award is the recognition of Romtelecom’s expertise and efforts in offering turn key, complex telecommunication solutions to its customers. Romtelecom proved expertise extends on its customers as benefits in terms of best industry practices, as well as cost efficient complex solutions and services answering their needs for current and future unified communications solutions,” stated George Makowski, Chief Commercial Officer, Business segment, Romtelecom. “The collaboration between Romtelecom and Cisco creates the optimum conditions to successfully launch complete and customized solutions for our customers”, he added.

During 2009, Romtelecom received the top certifications Gold and Master Managed Services from Cisco Systems, which offer to its customers a high level of quality for its complex portfolio of solutions and premium services. Romtelecom is the only Romanian company to obtain both certifications proving its competencies for all the phases of the Cisco Lifecycle methodology of preparing, planning, design, implementation, operations and optimizations of products and services.

This combination of certifications gives Romtelecom a unique position, as Cisco partner, on the Romanian market, acting as a trusted consultant for its business customers.

With a permanent focus on serving the clients, Romtelecom can provide a complete portfolio of managed integrated services, starting from a pool of IP based voice and data services, to complex solutions based on the Managed VPN and Internet Premium products. This can include any service starting from IP telephony or videoconferences and going to datacenter services and application hosting. Romtelecom has also achieved during the last two years Cisco Powered Managed Connectivity certification for Managed VPN and Managed Premium Internet.

To earn these certifications, Romtelecom had to meet rigorous standards for networking competency, service, support and customer satisfaction defined by Cisco.
