Romtelecom introduces: The Telcu Family
After thriller movie characters and childhood heroes, Romtelecom now entertains its audience with animation movies
Last year, Romtelecom’s communication strategy went cinematic, bringing the Romanians some memorable characters and strengthening the company’s position as a high quality Entertainer.
The movie style communication platform started in spring 2009 with the first cinematographic series, Thriller movie, continued with the jungle man and now is introducing quality cartoon comedy with the Telcu family, represented by archetypal typologies that can be identified in any modern family: the wise father, the sophisticated mother, the smart cool teenager, the little genius girl, the emancipated grandmother and the family’s dog, which is actually a speedy turtle.
The Telcu’s are very funny characters that actually teach the Romanians how to spend their money in a smart way by using Romtelecom products. As in any democratic family, each member has something to say, according to the age and typical concerns and the Telcu’s make no exception.
They represent the typical family, with all its worries about spending wise, on the best choices available. And they recommend Romtelecom products and services as the solution, by the slogan “Spend your money wisely!” Animation brings the original way of approaching humorously serious matters, in the good tradition of some well known animation movies. The Telcu’s are everything about humor, optimism and candor when facing everyday life and worries.
“The decision to go on with the movie communication platform was based on the positive impact on the audience and on the good results we achieved in terms of advertising & brand awareness. We surprised the audience with a fresh, original approach, and, as entertainers, we succeeded to offer diversity. Therefore, after dark comedy and heroes of our childhood, we introduce now the Telcu family, a mixture of smart and funny characters”, says Joerg Zeddies, Chief Commercial Officer, Residential segment.
The three creative platforms developed on cinematographic styles and used for the 2009 campaigns, respectively the spring campaign in 2010 are the result of the cooperation between Romtelecom Residential Marketing team and Grafitti BBDO, who signed the new concept of the Telcu family.
