Romtelecom won the “Best Directory Assisted Service” in Europe for the recently launched Directory Assistance Service, 118 932

Romtelecom received an international prize for the best 118 service, recently launched by the company. 118 932 is the new number for the Directory Assistance Service, implemented by Romtelecom to be in line with the harmonised numbering plan for such services in the European market.

The prize for the ”Best Directory Assisted Service” in Europe was received at the recent international contest 118 awards, organized by 118tracker.com, Europe’s leading provider of events for all aspects of the information industries, acknowledged by the Association for the Directory Information and Related Research Industry. At the event participated over 50 worldwide companies offering 118xyz type services.  

The new number implemented by Romtelecom was allocated to the company by ANCOM, in accordance with the legislation regarding the use of national short numbers for harmonised services. Until November 28 this year, 1931 will be used in parallel with the new number, 118 932. After this date, only the number 118 932 will be available.

118 932 is the first 118 service launched in Romania and accessible from Romtelecom and Cosmote networks for the moment. Other networks will follow until the end of October. Callers can ask for every Romtelecom number and Romtelecom is also aiming to include numbers from other networks soon. Besides residential persons, callers can find out also the number of their favourite restaurant, the doctor or the institution needed.

118 932 offers for the first time in Romania several useful features, such as:the call completion which allows users from all connected networks, if interested, to be connected to the desired number by the Romtelecom operator. Another feature, available for callers from mobile networks, is to receive the requested information via a free of charge SMS.

The service will be further on developed in the following months, in order to bring improved benefits to its users.

118 932 is a premium service with new features for the Romanian market, but keeps on the same price level as 1931.
