Romtelecom partners with Ericsson for an outsourcing project

Romtelecom and Ericsson have announced a 5-year Managed Services agreement for outsourcing of part of its field operations. With the agreement, about 400 Romtelecom employees, currently working in Romtelecom Switching and Power units, will join Ericsson from January 11, 2010. Ericsson will be responsible for corrective and preventive field maintenance for switching and power activities.

The contract supports Romtelecom’s strategy to increase its efficiency and offer its customers a high-quality portfolio of advanced and innovative services in fixed voice, data and broadband internet and TV services.

Yorgos Ioannidis, CEO Romtelecom says: "We have passed through a complex process before reaching this final step, as we were very careful with every aspect of this deal: starting from securing a smooth people transfer and job continuity to ensuring a high quality of the offering for Romtelecom. We were looking at well-established processes, methods, tools and experience in the domain of Managed Services of our partner, but also into the social aspects as we wanted to find a solution to the advantage of our employees".
