Romtelecom repositions its brand and introduces 3 new Voice subscriptions, offering for free Internet

Starting with September 12, Romtelecom’s residential customers benefit of three new Voice subscriptions and free of charge Internet access. Also, as a consequence of significant improvements in customers’ perception on Romtelecom, the operator changes its brand positioning and visual identity.

Romtelecom introduces three new subscriptions, designed to answer the specific needs of its clients: Voice Mobile, Voice International and Voice Total. The monthly fees are of 9.8 Euros for the first 2 subscriptions and 13.5 Euros for the last one. Voice Mobile provides the best price we ever offered and one of the lowest on the residential market for calls to mobile – 7 eurocents/minute in off-peak; Voice International provides the best price for international calls to fix networks - 2.7 eurocents/minute in off-peak -towards EU, USA & Canada, in addition to 60 free minutes included anytime for calls to these destinations. Voice Mobile, Voice International also include 60 minutes of calls within the Romtelecom network during peak hours and unlimited calls within any fixed line telephony network during off peak hours.

Voice Total combines the two prior mentioned subscriptions, together with the benefits of Voice Unlimited, the most feature rich subscription available prior to this launch, offering lower tariffs for both mobile and international calls plus 60 minutes of international calls together with free unlimited calls in fixed networks (for more details see Appendix 1).

All the subscriptions are offered based on 2 year contracts. All new and existing Romtelecom customers, who choose Voice Mobile and Voice International by October 31st will also receive a 2 Euro subscription discount for the entire contract period. In addition, new Romtelecom customers will also receive 12 months of free of charge itemized bill and a free of charge Siemens DECT phone.

 

“ We launched the first subscriptions with unlimited calls included about a year ago, under the Customer 1st project, and they were well received. We are renewing our promise to keep the Customer 1st through a new set of subscriptions, coming closer to what our customers need. Moreover, we are offering to all our voice customers, free of charge Internet connection for 1 year. It’s also our way of saying thank you for being loyal” stated Yorgos Ioannidis, CEO of Romtelecom.Customers who choose any Romtelecom Voice subscription for a 2 years period, between September 12 and October 31, will receive a free of charge Internet connection. The 512 kbps connection will be available for free in the first contractual year, from Monday to Friday between 20 and 6 and during weekends. In case the client chooses to give up the internet contract during the first year, he will not have to pay any cancellation fee. In case the client wants to keep the internet connection also in the second year of contract, the internet speed will change to 2 Mbps, the access will become unlimited and the client will pay a subscription fee of 7.5 euros per month.Between September 15 and December 15 business customers can also benefit of a new data and Internet offer which brings them a laptop for each Mbps of Premium Internet access acquired, for each connection. The new offer is available for all business clients which conclude contracts of at least 2 years. The products to which the offer is applied are IPFix Ultra 1 and 2 Mbps and MetroNET from 1 to 50 Mbps, therefore the customers can get up to 50 laptops for each of their connections. The laptops provided are Fujitsu Siemens branded, an Intel Pentium Dual Core processor and 2 GB RAM memory.The results of the Customer 1st program are best noticed in the evolution of the customer satisfaction. The latest study, issued at half year 2008, shows a significant change in the perception of the Romtelecom customers. The company achieved an European performance, by increasing with more than 50% the satisfaction level for fixed telephony customers in about a year and a half. At present, Romtelecom is in the top 10% of European fixed line providers in terms of customers’ satisfaction.“The Romtelecom brand also changed a lot during the past years and came to mean a lot more than fixed telephony in the eyes of our customers, as well as on the market. Given also the change in the perception of our customers, now is the right time to reposition the Romtelecom brands, by a stronger endorsement of the sub-brands to the mother brand, by a common visual identity and communication platform,” stated Yorgos Ioannidis, CEO of Romtelecom.The new residential brand is built under the „enjoyer” archetype and it is expressed through the brand positioning „Enjoy life”, and „creator” for the business segment, with the brand positioning „You achieve, we support you”.  Romtelecom continues to cultivate diversity, addressing the individual. The company is proposing a fresh, friendly and dynamic dialog, major characteristics of a brand which already experienced innovation and quality entertainment. The new Romtelecom brand will no longer tell the story of fixed telephony separately from the other activity segments which the company has developed in time and will unify its communication messages under a single brand positioning, using different product names for differentiating the communication campaigns of different services: Voice (fixed telephony), Clicknet (broadband Internet) and Dolce (digital television). The communication with the business clients will be made under the Romtelecom Business Solutions sub-brand.
