Half a million clients for ClickNet

Romtelecom’s broadband Internet access service ClickNet surpassed half of million clients in June, this year. ClickNet had the highest growth rate on the Romanian fixed broadband market in 2007, and Romtelecom keeps focusing on a massive increase of this service this year, too.

This month, ClickNet surpassed 500,000 clients, maintaining with the same growth rate as last year. ClickNet began 2007 with a market share of about 6-7% out of total of fixed broadband internet services and ended the year with a market share of about 20%, registering an increase of the clients number of more than 300%.

Nevertheless, the free migration to higher speeds process for ClickNet users ends this month and presently the speeds offered are up to 20 Mbps. It is the third free of charge migration to higher speeds since ClickNet service was launched in 2005. Prices start from 7.5 Euro (VAT excluded), for ClickNet 2 Mbps. 

Until the end of July 2008, all the residential clients will have 50% discount for all tariffs, and those who wish to subscribe to ClickNet for 1 year benefit of free of charge subscription for 3 months, while the ones who choose to subscribe for two years will get 6 months of free of charge subscription.

Also for all ClickNet clients, the company launches a new service, of voice over IP telephony (VoIP). In the first phase the new product allows users to place calls in any national and international network and to receive calls from Romtelecom network. The service is available for all ClickNet residential clients, new or existing ones, offering them a second voice number over the existing phone line. In the following months, clients will be activated too the possibility to receive calls for VoIP numbers.  

Any ClickNet client can create a VoIP account on www.clicknet.ro, with free of charge registration. The client can choose two subscription types: ClickNet VoIP with a monthly subscription of 0 Euro and with charges for the traffic and ClickNet VoIP 100 with a monthly subscription of 2 Euro with 100 free of charge minutes included for calls to national fixed networks and fixed networks from EU, USA and Canada.

Calls between VoIP subscribers within Romtelecom network are free of charge. Romtelecom VoIP clients can make calls or send SMS from anywhere in the country, if they are connected to Internet. Romtelecom clients will receive a single invoice for all Romtelecom services (classic fixed telephony, Internet-ClickNet, television-Dolce and internet telephony –VoIP).

ClickNet is the broadband Internet service of Romtelecom, available on the market since three years ago, since when it succeeded to impose new standards in Romania, by decreasing all tariffs by half, launching premiere offers on the national market, as the bundle offers -equipment (desktop/laptop) and broadband connection.
