For the first time, Romtelecom cuts prices down and adds benefits for its customers for the same money, as part of "Customer 1st" project

As of Monday, May 28, 2007, Romtelecom starts giving its customers more value for the money they pay for using fixed telephony services, by launching the first stage of the Customer 1st project. For the first time in the company’s history, Romtelecom makes a significant change in its approach to the customers, after several years of concentrating on becoming a financially healthy company, capable of making investments and modernize its network. On May 28 the Romtelecom network will be completely digital and the company will start to reward its clients with extra offers, for which they will not have to pay extra money, as well as savings on the monthly subscriptions.

We are now financially able to give our customers the very best value for their money. They are no longer at the end of the fixed line, they’re at the beginning of it. They are expecting us to care for them and we will not just say that, but prove it. This is what Customer 1st is all about”, declared Mr. Yorgos Ioannidis, CEO Romtelecom.
All customers are individually informed about the new subscriptions plan that Romtelecom starts using on May 28 for fixed telephony. Basically, all customers will enjoy more benefits, regardless of the subscription they are using now.
A new subscription is introduced, Confort Unlimited, allowing users to make unlimited free calls anytime in Romtelecom network for only 11.2 Euro a month, approximately 37 lei (VAT not included). In addition, the customers who will choose the new Confort Unlimited subscription will benefit of a 33% discount for calls to national mobile numbers – a tariff of only 9 Eurocents/minute, VAT not included. If we compare offers of incumbents in Europe, we’ll see that the Romtelecom Confort Unlimited has the smallest price in the whole Europe.
All the other subscriptions include now extra-benefits, such as unlimited free calls during off-peak hours in Romtelecom network (Confort 50, Confort 200) or discounted tariffs for calls made in Romtelecom network (Confort Standard). All subscriptions insure lower tariffs for international calls to fixed networks in all EU countries, Norway, Switzerland, Israel and Iceland, and to fixed and mobile networks in USA and Canada. For the social subscription that Romtelecom had in place, the monthly fee decreases from 4.9 to 3.9 euros/month, VAT not included, and all pension beneficiaries with income under 180 RON are now eligible for this subscription. The change in Romtelecom’s approach is also addressing the Internet area. As it is known, Romtelecom has become in the last couple of years an important broadband Internet provider, with over 160,000 ClickNet customers. Considering the great interest in Romtelecom’s Internet services, the prices for this service are now going down.
A new promotion for ClickNet services will begin at the mid of June, making them even more accessible for customers: the current lowest tariff for the high speed ADSL based Internet from Romtelecom will come down to 7.5 Euro (VAT not included) for ClickNet 512 Light, half the previous list price. This is also valid for the other higher speed Internet services:

The promo will be open till the end of August for the new clients. At the beginning of July, all the existing ClickNet customers will also have their Internet subscriptions aligned to the new reduced tariffs.
The new tariffs and benefits will be also applied to the customers who are using double-play packages (telephony + Internet), reflected in unlimited free minutes anytime in Romtelecom network and savings of up to 17.7 Euro per month. For details, please see the attached annex on Internet.
In the past two years, Romtelecom added to its fixed telephony offer, broadband Internet based on ADSL and digital television, through the Dolce brand. The youngest in the services’ portfolio of Romtelecom, Dolce has gathered over 200,000 clients in the first 5 months after launch, over 90% of the Dolce customers saying that they would recommend the service to someone else.
