Romtelecom changes the tariff structure: new types of monthly subscription, with bundled minutes

As of August 15, Romtelecom changes and simplifies the tariffs structure, reducing the number of phone subscriptions from the current seven to four (see the new Romtelecom subscriptions).

Once the change is implemented, the minutes included in a subscription plan will be used not only for local calls, but also for calls at national level, in Romtelecom network, regardless the time and destination.

Talk with 1 Eurocent per minute two extra hours every day and during the entire weekend

The off peak period will increase by two hours, starting with 18:00, instead of 20:00, as it is now. This means that, between 18:00-8:00 hours, clients will make cheaper local calls, at the lowest tariff offered by the company, of 1 eurocent per minute. Moreover, tariffs for local and long distance calls will decrease by 6.9%, respectively 7.4% during peak time, while tariffs for calls to mobile networks will be reduced by 3.6%. Business clients will benefit of an additional decrease of 10% for international calls (see the new tariffs for calls).

Clients can opt for a new subscription, with 200 national minutes included

All clients will be migrated to one of the new subscriptions: Confort Standard – no minutes included or Confort 50 – with 50 minutes included. Clients can request at any time the change of the subscription’s type, by free calling at 930 or in all Romtelecom shops. At the same time, starting with August 15, clients will have the possibility to choose the new Confort 200 subscription, which offers 200 national minutes for 10 euro per month.

Options for lower prices

Clients can still use various options that can be added to the basic subscription, thus benefiting of special lower rates: tariffs starting from 10 eurocents per minute for calls to mobiles, with the FixMobil options; minutes included for calls to 3 favorite numbers in Romtelecom network, with the Favorite Numbers options; unlimited calls to a favorite number, through the Confident options; up to 20% decrease for calls to any international destination, through the World options; the ClickNet Express Extra bundle, offering ADSL based Internet and 300 national minutes.

Social subscription is replaced by a social discount of 2 euro for Confort Standard subscription, granted automatically to eligible persons. Approximately 150,000 persons with low incomes will benefit of this Romtelecom offer, including those that had before a social subscription. Additionally, this solution will allow beneficiaries to make calls to any destination, not only to emergency numbers.

The new tariffs’ structure, used by Romtelecom starting with August 15, 2006, can be downloaded here. Further details can be found in the company’s shops or by free calling the 930 - Sales & Inquiries Service, available 24/7.

In the next period all Romtelecom clients will be notified individually regarding the new prices structure, about reductions, as well as increases of tariffs.

The tariffs’ structure change is made by Romtelecom unilaterally and clients have the right, beginning with the date of the present notification, till the deadline specified in the contract (if exists) or in the Communications Minister Decree 122/1998 regarding the approval of general conditions to provide phone services, to request the cessation of the services subject to change without any penalty.
