Monthly, approximately 10,000 new clients choose to use broadband Internet from Romtelecom
ADSL products offered by Romtelecom were appreciated by the clients, the company recording 12,000 ADSL clients at the end of last year and exceeding the initial target for 2005, of 10,000 clients.
Currently, the number of concluded contracts for ClickNet Express 512, ClickNet Express 1024 and ADSL Express 2048 reaches over 20,000, with over 500 contracts signed daily.
As of January 2006, the coverage area for Romtelecom high speed ADSL Internet-based services was extended, the products now having national coverage. New ports installation continues as demand for broadband Internet provided by Romtelecom increases.
The product with the lowest price, ClickNet 512, was not the one that registered the highest demand during the last months: approximately 40% of the clients opted for ClickNet 1024, while another 40% chose ADSL Express 2048. Over 50% of the clients chose to conclude contracts valid for a 2-year period. One of the advantages of Romtelecom products mentioned most often by clients was related to the reliability of the company’s network, which is a warrant for the quality of Internet products.
“The increasing interest for our services actually acknowledges their quality and rewards our efforts to transform Romtelecom into Romanians’ favorite broadband Internet provider. At the same time, it is a proof that Romanians are prepared to use more Internet and more sophisticated services, as well. And as the number of clients increases, another trend will become more and more visible: decrease of tariffs for quality Internet usage. Internet through ADSL was not really affordable few years ago in Europe, either”, declared Pieter Bakker, Romtelecom Chief Commercial Officer.
Until February 28, 2006, all clients who will sign contracts for one of the three ADSL-based Internet services offered by Romtelecom, will benefit of promotional prices, consisting in a monthly subscription reduced by 25%, for the initial period of the contract: one or two years. The cheapest monthly subscription is up to 22 Euros per month, VAT included.
In 2005 Romtelecom launched the first three broadband Internet products using ADSL technology: ADSL Express, for business clients, with a download speed of 2 Mbps; ClickNet Express 1024, for residential clients, which ensures a download speed of up to 1 Mbps and ClickNet Express 512, which reaches a download speed of 512 Kbps.
