Timos Tsokanis - Chief Information Officer

Timos Tsokanis is the Chief Information Officer of Romtelecom, the leader of fixed line communications market in Romania. He is responsible for the company's information technology evolution, its systems portfolio development and operation of all supporting infrastructure.

Mr. Tsokanis' professional experience includes several managerial positions in the field of telecommunications. Before moving to Romtelecom, he was Chief Operational Officer with Vivacom (Bulgarian Telecommunications Company), where he was responsible for the turn-around of the Network & IT Operations for all lines of business (fixed, mobile, ISP).

He also occupied the position of Chief IT & Customer Service Officer within Globul EAD Bulgaria, where he streamlined the major customer-facing and operational processes.

As Chief Information Officer of Tellas (fixed line operator, Greece) he was responsible for the IT Department, and for the implementation of an in-sourcing plan that decreased spending by 70% in 2 years.

His professional experience includes the position of Executive IT Director, IT West, with Verizon Wireless (USA), and Deputy Executive Director for Stet Hellas (Greek GSM Mobile Operator).

Mr. Tsokanis holds a Diploma in Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, and a Master of Science from WPI, USA.
