Audio conference is the service which offers the possibility to connect a specified number of participants to the same telephone conversation, using the commuted telephone network. A number of remote participants, in different locations, may be connected (by a Romtelecom operator) and may communicate simultaneously through the commuted telephone network.

Through this type of service, the operator has the possibility to establish simultaneous connections with several participants using the digital mixing of individual channels.

The maximum number of participants to an audio conference, who may be located anywhere, is 54. This number can be divided in maximum 2 audio conferences of maximum 28 participants each, which supposes that, within the limit of the mentioned number of participants, one or two audio conferences may take place at the same time.

All the terminal equipment is owned by the client and shall not be made available by Romtelecom.

The basic functionality of the service consists in making a simultaneous telephone communication between the participants to the conference. Calls are bidirected, which means that each participant may listen and talk whenever he/she desires to intervene in the conversation.

Audio conference provides an efficient manner to communicate with remote partners, colleagues, clients or suppliers, in a natural business and work environment. Audio conference rapidly transforms the companies' working manner, eliminating geographical barriers.

The Audio conference service is provided both in Dial-Out and in Dial-In versions.

This service gives people the power to communicate and eliminates time and money losses and the inconvenience of travels to different destinations in a short time.

This service is addressed to business clients (legal persons):

• banks;
• companies with branches in the country and abroad;
• call centre systems;
• central administrations with territorial units.

The audio conference service is only offered to legal persons.

The main steps for providing the service are:

1. Filling in of standard forms:
- Application for the supply of the digital dial in audio conference service
- Application for the supply of the digital dial out audio conference service
and their sending by fax to 021.400.38.80 or scanned, by e-mail, to bsc_bucuresti@romtelecom.ro
Applications must be complete, signed and stamped by the client and sent at least 24 hours before the time when the service supply is requested.

2. Establishment of audio conference connections (audio conference calls shall be made by the Conference Master);

3. Technical assistance during the performance of the audio conference session;

For giving up the wished service or changing the parameters of the wished service, the following standard forms shall be filled in:
- Application for the waiver, modification of the digital dial in audioconference service
- Application for the waiver, modification of the digital dial out audioconference service
and sent by fax to 021.400.38.80 or scanned, by email, to bsc_bucuresti@romtelecom.ro. (to be sent in this e-mail as attachments)

Two types of hourly ranges are defined for Dial-Out:

• Peak period: Monday - Friday: 08:00 – 17:00
• Outside the peak period: Monday - Friday: 17:00 – 08:00, Saturday, Sunday and on legal holydays 00:00 – 24:00.

Hourly ranges for Dial-In:

• Monday - Friday: 08:00 – 17:00
• Saturday and Sunday: 08:00 – 16:00

Tariffs for conference establishment:

National communications:

Tariffs apply both in the case of occasional audio conference and in the case of the audio conference based on monthly subscription. Telephonic traffic shall be charged for each conversation between Romtelecom PABX and each participant.

International calls:

For international calls, the following shall be defined:

Additional functionalities:

• generation of call reports;
• consultation call - the conference call can be put on hold in case the initiation of a new call is wished (consultation call) - which operation is not recommended given the fact that when pressing the "hold" key, the other participants in the audio conference shall be disturbed (hold signal: music, commercials).
